The site is a large R&D facility located in Upper Providence.

EECO2 delivered a prioritised implementation plan in order for the site to allocate budgets and resources to meet a phased implementation plan for the next 3 years in order to deliver the benefits identified.

Project Challenges:

The audit focus was to identify energy saving opportunities for the site HVAC systems that serve the extensive R&D laboratory facilities ensuring compliance with EHS best practices.

The identified opportunities were prioritised based on site impact, costs and benefits and were then presented to the client with an implementation plan.

Energy Efficiency Consultancy EECO2 appoint new Head of Life Sciences Division

Energy Efficiency Consultancy have appointed Keith Beattie to take the lead of the Life Sciences Division and to strengthen the existing EECO2 management team.

Keith trained as a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Energy Manager and has over 20 years’ experience of leading teams to deliver operational improvements in engineering, manufacturing, facilities and building services.

His position as the Head of Life Sciences Division at EECO2 comes after 12 years with a Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturer where he progressed to the role of Energy & Environmental Sustainability Leader for the organisation. During his work, on just one site within the company, his expertise and contribution led to 30% improvement in energy efficiency, 50% reduction in water intake & zero waste to landfill.

Also, within this time, his extensive knowledge in facilitation and project management resulted in several prestigious international award wins for delivering energy and carbon savings using both innovative and standard technology.

In addition to his expertise in driving sustainability improvements, Keith is also an international conference speaker, renowned for his wealth of expertise throughout the biotech and pharma sectors.

New British Standard launched for Cleanroom Energy

In March 2013, The BSI launched a new British Standard – BS 8568:2013, Cleanroom Energy – Code of Practice for improving energy efficiency in cleanrooms and clean air devices.

BS 8568 is a new British Standard that gives recommendations on reducing energy consumption and maintaining energy efficiency in new and existing cleanrooms and clean air devices.

At EECO2, our core expertise is energy efficiency consultancy for the Pharmaceutical and Life Science Sectors, both of which are eligible for the new standard.
